Sierra Leone is a state in West-Africa, situated between the republics of Guinea-Conakry (at the north) and Liberia (at the South-East). It is also surrounded at the South-West by the Atlantic Ocean.
The civil war in this country took place from March 1991 to January 2002. The major reason for such a mayhem was the control of diamond producing regions in the land.
There is now peace in the country. However, for survival and economic reasons, many children still work in the diamond mines under stressful and dangerous conditions.
